Students enrolled in the College of Architecture has received the following honors, awards, and scholarships:

Myan Duong’s work has been selected to be displayed at Design Fair 2010 in Lawndale Art Center on April 24-25. Design Fair 2010, formerly the 20th Century Modern Market, features vintage modern objects of the 20th century as well as cutting edge contemporary design. The best in design for furniture, glass, ceramics, lighting books, metalwork and fashion will be for sale.

Jorge Galvan has been announced as one of the winners of the annual Initiative for Houston grant program organized by the Rice Design Alliance (RDA). His project entitled, “Scavenge” was awarded $2,500 to document Houston neighborhoods’ trash output, and create neighborhood identities based on the kinds of trash a particular neighborhood produces. Rachel Young received two awards from the Gulf Coast Green 2010 Student Design Competition: Honorary Mention and People’s Choice.

Tri Ly has won the Kiyoshi Scholarship + Internship – MOA Architecture in Denver, Colorado and the 2010 – 2011 Texas Architectural Foundation Edwin W. and Alyce O. Carroll Scholarship.

The following students have won 2010-2011 Texas Architectural Foundation Scholarships:

Joshua D. Robbins has been awarded the Association Administrators & Consultants Architecture Scholarship.

Tri Minh Ly has been awarded the Edwin W. and Alyce O. Carroll Scharlship.

Dan Zou and Mattia J. Flabiano, Jr. have been awarded the Southwest Terrazzo Association Architecture Scholarship.
