The library's federated search tool (the Article Search box on the Libraries homepage) will be down Saturday 9/21 – Sunday 9/23 for maintainance. The tool will be available again on Monday.
ProQuest Down for Maintenance
ProQuest databases will be unavailable for a scheduled enhancement release from 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 21 to 9 a.m. on Sunday, July 22.
ILL/Catalog Link Unavailable in WorldCat
We are currently experiencing problems with the ILL/Catalog ("Find this Item") link in the WorldCat database. Other OCLC FirstSearch databases are not affected.
Unfortunately, you will have to manually check the catalog and/or enter the request into ILLiad.
To check the catalog for an item:
- Open a new browser window (CTRL+N) or a new browser tab (CTRL+T).
- Go to: http://library.uh.edu/
- Perform a catalog search as you normally would.
To request the item via Interlibrary Loan:
- Open a new browser window (CTRL+N) or a new browser tab (CTRL+T).
- Go to: http://illiad.lib.uh.edu/illiad/logon.html and log in with your username and password.
- Enter the information in the "Book (or other Loan)" form, then click the "Submit" button.

ProQuest Down for Maintenance
Library Web Sites Unavailable, Sunday 11th in AM
On Sunday February 11, 2007 from 8 AM to 12 PM, the Library will be replacing its core router with new network equipment. During this period the Libraries' network will be unavailable and users will not be able connect to the Library web sites, the online catalog, and the electronic databases. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Catalog and Remote Access to Electronic Resources Downtime
To improve service to our patrons, we are upgrading our library catalog software on
Friday, December 15th. Please note that all access to the library catalog and
any remote access to library databases will be unavailable from 6:00pm until
about 9pm on Friday. Remote access to the library databases via the
campus VPN will not be affected by this downtime.
