Constitution Day Exhibit Held Over
The exhibit of original and facsimile materials related to the period of the American Revolution and the development of the U.S. Constitution has been held over in the M.D. Anderson Library. The exhibit is housed in two display cases on the first floor of the Anderson Library, across from the glass, wall display cases toward the rear of the floor. Among the items on display are facsimile copies of the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. Also displayed are original letters written by George Washington and Charles Pinckney.
CougarNet on Library Laptops
Laptops available for student check-out at the M.D. Anderson Library now require a CougarNet login. This means having the convenience of your CougarNet profile, desktop, and stored files available when you check-out a laptop from the Service Desk.
Printing from these laptops is also available at most library printers by way of the library’s new print management system. You will need to login through the VPN Client to access printing options, as well as connecting to internet websites beyond the University of Houston domain (www.uh.edu).
If you have any questions in about laptop check-out, please contact the Service Desk at (713)743-9710.
Faster Printing in M.D. Anderson Library!
M.D. Anderson proudly presents our new print management system. This system is designed to ease your frustration by allowing you to retrieve print jobs from any CougarNet printer. You can now avoid that long wait for your print job when it was in the queue behind others that were too long, too big, or too slow. That printout you urgently need for class can now be printed quickly and efficiently. Not only that, but we will also be saving paper by reducing unclaimed print jobs, and it’s still free!
Here’s how it works. When you print an item, you will be prompted to set up a password. Keep it short and easy to remember. If you are printing multiple items, select "Last Answers" to use the same password automatically. Next, go to the closest available printer, select your CougarNet username, and enter the password you just set.
Oh, and by the way … we’ve also upgraded our oldest printers to new, faster models.
Have a great Fall Semester!
