ProQuest Product Downtime Saturday, JULY 29, 2017

On Saturday, 29 July 2017, a ProQuest product maintenance window will launch worldwide to upgrade infrastructure, enhance security, and maintain reliability of your products.

During this 9-hour window, some ProQuest products will be unavailable. While the date and time were chosen to minimize the impact on our customers, we realize that some users may be affected, and we apologize for the inconvenience.  Additionally, web-based customer access will be redirected to a webpage stating the planned maintenance times.

•    United States (CDT): Saturday, 29 July, 2:00 p.m. through Saturday, 29 July, 11:59 p.m.

The following products will be temporarily offline:

•    ProQuest Platform (search.proquest.com)
•    ProQuest Congressional (congressional.proquest.com)
•    ProQuest Dialog (search.proquest.com/professional)

ProQuest gateway errors-RESOLVED

At this time, ProQuest resources are experiencing a gateway error due to their new platform update. The Libraries’ are working with ProQuest Technical Support to fix this problem. If you encounter a problem, please click the broken link button next to the resource name in the e-journals menu. This will assist the Libraries’ conversation with ProQuest Technical Support.

Ulrichsweb System Downtime-RESOLVED

Ulrichsweb will be down on Thursday, June 15th, starting at 3pm for platform updates, and will affect Ulrichsweb™, Ulrichsweb API, and Ulrich’s Serials Analysis System services.

During this time, you will be unable to make any administrative changes, and visitors to the Ulrichsweb web page will find a “service unavailable” message asking them to come back later. Ulrichsweb API requests will result in no data during this brief downtime.

Expected downtime is approximately 1 hour.

Emerald platform to undergo maintenance 6/6/2017

The Emerald platform will be undergoing maintenance starting at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, 6/6/2017. Maintenance is expected to last up to 12 hours.

During this time, the site will be placed into ‘read-only’ mode, making the following functionality unavailable for the duration of the upgrade:

  • Activating access tokens
    Adding publications as favourites
    Alert subscriptions
    Any changes to ‘My Account’ and ‘Institutional Account’
    E-commerce
    Registration
    Search.

Upcoming Artstor Digital Library Feature Changes

We’re writing to share some upcoming feature changes which may require you to save some of your work in the Artstor Digital Library. These changes are part of the release of an improved platform that will feature a redesigned interface, streamlined features, and which will run on the same backend technology that currently powers the ITHAKA service JSTOR. This represents a first step toward the longer-term goal of creating an integrated platform experience for users of both the Artstor Digital Library and JSTOR – now both allied services under the ITHAKA umbrella. Learn more about our upcoming release.

  • We will be pausing the upload and metadata entry functions for Personal Collections between June 1st and early September this year. During this time you will be able to share, download, and save your existing images to groups as usual. However, you will not be able to add new images to your Personal Collection or edit any of the text associated with your existing images.
  • Uploading of OIV presentations into Personal Collections will be retired. If you need to share OIV presentations with students, please convert them to PDFs. An enhanced option for exporting your OIV presentations to other formats is being explored and will be available soon.
  • Personal notes and instructor notes are being retired. If you need any information saved in your personal or instructor notes, we recommend copying and pasting this information into your image group descriptions by June 1st.
  • The citation generator and saved citations will be temporarily removed and added back into the Digital Library after the new release. If you have saved citations that you need, please download them before June 1st.
  • Saved searches are being retired.
  • The date filter for search results will be temporarily removed in late May (prior to the release of the new site). It will return, with improvements, as part of the updated site this summer.

IEEE Xplore Maintenance April 21-22, 2017-RESOLVED

IEEE Xplore will be upgraded between April 21st at 8:00 AM and April 22nd at 1:00 PM. During this time, single article purchase and account management will be unavailable and there may be intermittent impact on performance.

Also, any file cabinet subscription downloads or updates to personalization features will need to be reapplied after the upgrade is complete.

ScienceDirect is currently offline 9/26/2016-RESOLVED

ScienceDirect is temporarily offline. The Library has contacted the vendor and will let you know as soon as the service becomes available.

EBSCO databases are currently unavailable-RESOLVED

As of 7:30 pm, July 11, 2016 Ebsco reports:

“We have been receiving multiple reports of customers having difficulty accessing EBSCOhost and EBSCO Discovery Service. Our engineers are researching the issue and we will provide an update shortly.”

Ebook “Practical Statistics for Educators” is currently unavailable-RESOLVED

Online reading and downloading of the ebook “Practical Statistics for Educators” is currently blocked.  We have contacted the publisher to restore access and are monitoring the issue.  We hope to have it resolved soon.  We apologize for the inconvenience.
