The Libraries’ connection to the campus network will be down from 7 am to 11 am this Sunday (August 15, 2010) for maintenance. Access to web databases, the Library catalog, and web sites will be unavailable during this period.
Wiley InterScience will be changing their platform to Wiley Online Library this weekend. Because of this change, Wiley InterScience will no longer be available from Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 3am. Wiley Online Library is due to go live on Sunday, August 8, 2010 at 12pm.
During this transition period anyone attempting to access the sites will see a message explaining the reason for the unavailability and will be directed to wileyonlinelibrary.com/info for more details.
We apologize for this interruption in service and will do all that we can to ensure a smooth transition to Wiley Online Library.
On Monday, December 28th, 2009, a scheduled power outage will take place in many buildings on the UH campus, including the M.D. Anderson Library. Although it is anticipated that power will be restored by 10 a.m. when the Library is scheduled to open that day, it is possible that the power outage might extend beyond its scheduled down time. Online access and the computers would be unavailable during that time.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Due to construction activities and a planned power outage in certain buildings on the campus, wireless service may be unavailable in the M. D. Anderson Library on Saturday, December 5, 2009. We apologize for the inconvenience. We anticipate that all other library services will be available that day.
Electrical power to the Library will be shut off on Sunday November 1st from 7 AM to 10 AM. During this period there will be no access to the Libraries’ servers. This includes all library web sites, electronic resources, and the library catalog. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
We apologize for the inconvenience, but Encore needs to go through some unscheduled maintenance. If you are unfamiliar with Encore, it’s a discovery platform and better way to search the catalog. It will be unavailable this afternoon, but you can still search for books, journals, and other materials through the traditional catalog.
On Tuesday, August 25th from 6:30-7pm, the federated search tools will be down due to scheduled web server maintenance. You will not be able to use any of the federated search tools on the UH Libraries’ website. This includes doing a search on the homepage for articles. You can still go into individual databases to look for articles. We apologize for this inconvenience.
If you have any questions, please contact Rachel Vacek, Web Services Coordinator, revacek@uh.edu. Thanks.
