Josef Albers’ Interaction of Color on display

Uncategorized

The Jenkins Library’s copy of Interaction of Color will be on display through the academic year.  Originally published by Yale University Press in 1963 as a limited silkscreen edition with 150 sizable color plates, Josef Albers’s Interaction of Color is a masterwork in art education.  Conceived as a handbook and teaching aid for artists, instructors, and students, this influential book presents Albers’s singular explanation of complex color theory principles.  Each of Albers’ lessons will be exhibited on the upper mezzanine floor for a week.  Come to the library regularly to see the plates as he intended them.  Reprinted editions may be borrowed from our general collection.
